So much for us to cover on this week's Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle and Chris Pike and Cody Ellis try to look at it all wrapping up #NBL22 Round 17, previewing Round 18, covering all the hot topics around the NBL, looking at the upcoming WNBL Grand Final series and updating our #TheDamo, #TheRedhage and #TheGalen awards.
We open up this week's episode of Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle with hosts Chris Pike and Cody Ellis discussing the hot form the Illawarra Hawks and Sydney Kings are in, the impact of Tim Coenraad, the dramas at the Perth Wildcats, Melbourne United's big loss but addition of Yudai Baba, South East Melbourne Phoenix losing 5 of the past 6 and Tasmania JackJumpers keeping their #NBL22 hopes alive.
Cody Ellis then provides some unique insight only a former NBL player can provide into the game clinching steal from Josh Magette for the JackJumpers, the remarkable finish with an Anthony Drmic buzzer beater for the Brisbane Bullets but capitulation from the New Zealand Breakers, and then a look at the impressive future NBA stars right now in the NBL.
It's then time for an update on our awards with the votes from Damian Martin the Best Defensive Player thanks to Everlast Beverage, from Shawn Redhage in the Redhage Basketball Player of the Year and we select this week's winner of The Galen Best Team Man award for Round 17 in the NBL.
Before getting to a full preview of all the upcoming Round 18 action in NBL22, we take a look at the way the WNBL semi finals played out to set up the Melbourne Boomers and Perth Lynx meeting in the Grand Final series starting this Saturday in Melbourne.
