We start off the show this week with Simon Mitchell giving his thoughts on the NBL TV product this season and why he'd like to hear more analysis and less chit chat in the broadcast.
It's then time to talk about a dramatic Melbourne Cup Eve contest with the Perth Wildcats beating Melbourne United in overtime before our 'Cats discussion takes in why Simon Mitchell wants to see more of Hyrum Harris and Jesse Wagstaff, less of Corey Webster and maybe even Jordan Usher moving forward.
Late game execution became a talking point across Round 6 and Simon Mitchell mused about how not having enough time with your full group over pre-season could be a factor in that and why the teams who messed up the least tended to win.
The amount of fouls called in the NBL are becoming a big talking point and Simon Mitchell talks about how it's taking away from the spectacle of the game, why there's too many off the ball and rebounding calls being game, and it's hurting the flow and overall product right now.
The former Phoenix coach discusses the two men he brought in last NBL season too and how well Alan Williams and Gary Browne are playing for South East Melbourne, and why 'Big Sauce' could be an MVP candidate if he stays out of foul trouble and why Browne still has room to grow.
We talk about the Adelaide 36ers with Simon Mitchell talking about how happy he is to see Trey Kell III playing so well but why we still haven't seen the best of him while his eyebrows were raised when he came out late in the game. He also wants to see the Sixers ensure Isaac Humphries stays more involved.
Our last talking point is the Illawarra Hawks and Simon Mitchell talks about their two tough losses to Tasmania and Adelaide back in Round 3 as when his concerns really came to light. He put the torch on Justin Robinson and Tyler Harvey to lift their efforts defensively to lead the way and also wants more from co-captain Sam Froling.
Simon Mitchell then selects his winner of #TheGalen Best NBL Team for Round 6 and it's Anthony Lamb from the New Zealand Breakers before we preview the five games to come in Round 7 of #NBL24.
