Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle this week takes a look at the Kobe Bryant tragedy, fresh look at Melbourne United-Perth Wildcats game, #NBL20 Finals race, an interview with NZ Breakers captain Tom Abercrombie, a look at NBL Indigenous Round and preview of the rest of Round 18.
Episode 15 begins with NBL Writer Chris Pike and The Scoring Machine Shawn Redhage discussing the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and the other seven people on the helicopter that crashed.
The hosts then turn their attention to the Round 18 opener where Melbourne United kept their season alive by beating Perth Wildcats. Discussion then focuses on the race for #NBL20 Finals positions with talk about the Cairns Taipans, Brisbane Bullets, Melbourne United, New Zealand Breakers, and the league-leading Sydney Kings.
It's then time for a special, wide-ranging interview with Breakers captain and four-time NBL championship winner Tom Abercrombie. Everything discussed from Shawn Redhage to how the Breakers have come out the other end of a dramatic season still with a playoff chance, why he's excited for this new era at the Breakers, how the Breakers feel they are treated in Australia, how they are perceived back home and his life as a father of three all aged under four.
The show then resumes with talk about the NBL Indigenous Round and a preview of the rest of Round 18.

Bit of a change to the format for this week's Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle this week as we immediately review the Friday night NBL matches and preview the rest of Round 16 in #NBL20.
NBL Writer Chris Pike and Perth Wildcats legend Shawn Redhage team up for Episode 14 of Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle and it all gets underway with a full wrap up of the Friday night Round 16 NBL action which saw the New Zealand Breakers beat the Sydney Kings to keep their season alive, and the Perth Wildcats thump the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
The hosts give a full breakdown of both those matches and what the results mean, and especially discuss the performance of Mitch Norton for the Wildcats in the absence of Damian Martin and Bryce Cotton in his 100th NBL appearance.
The Scoring Machine also provides some insight into new Phoenix signing Devondrick Walker and why this might be the start of a longer-term role for him at South East Melbourne.
Discussion then turns to the NBL Next Stars program with LaMelo Ball having now played his last game with the Illawarra Hawks and RJ Hampton again sidelined at the Breakers.
The show then finishes off with a full preview of the remaining four matches of Round 16 with the Brisbane Bullets hosting the Illawarra Hawks, Cairns Taipans playing the Adelaide 36ers, Breakers hosting Melbourne United and the Kings backing up at home to the Phoenix.

So much to discuss and dissect on the first episode for 2020 of Hoops Heaven's Basketball Hustle and it all starts with the new Perth Wildcats signing and a wrap up of the Cairns Taipans' big win to start Round 15 against the New Zealand Breakers.
The first show of 2020 sees NBL Writer Chris Pike and The Scoring Machine Shawn Redhage open up by discussing the signing for the Wildcats of Miles Plumlee to replace Dario Hunt. Shawn provides some insight into why he thinks it is the right move and then preview's Friday's game against the Illawarra Hawks which he thinks can determine first place on the NBL ladder
There's then a recap of the Cairns Taipans win on Thursday night against the New Zealand Breakers to send them into third position and which according to Shawn, locks them in for a playoff position.
There's then a full breakdown of each team in the NBL as the hosts take a detailed look at the Sydney Kings, Melbourne United, Adelaide 36ers, Brisbane Bullets, NZ Breakers, South East Melbourne Phoenix and Illawarra Hawks, and their prospects.
Talk then turns to a Twenty20 Charity Match organised by Greg Hire to be played at the WACA Ground on Friday February 7 with Shawn sharing some of his past cricket exploits.
Things then get a bit more serious with talk about the NBL introducing a Replay Centre before a full preview of the rest of Round 15 in the NBL.
